Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Better Educated LLC was founded  in August of 2008 and officially formed on December 9th, 2008.
  2. Q: Where can we see examples of your previous work?
A: Per their request, I generally do not share my clients’ work; however, I’ll be glad to show you some of my personal websites. Here are a few:

    • Teachers Business – a simple listbuilding website.  Since its creation in December of 2009, it has climbed up to an alexa rank of 439,716, is ranking for 8 different keyword phrases on the first page of Google search (15 on page two, 14 on page three, and 28 others on subsequent search pages), and has brought in 64 leads organically with minimal marketing.  The real power in this website is behind the scenes.  Because of the strategies I use, I was able to have it built in under a week.  Additionally, it is promoted regularly with minimal input – again, using my simple system.

    • My Personal Blog – not updated often enough, but serves as an example of blogging and social marketing.

  3. Q: Can you share success stories?
A: How about some testimonials? Click below and then click on each video to play.

  4. Q: What’s your experience in our industry?
A: I’ve been marketing online for just under two years. I’ve been officially coaching on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and marketing tactics since September of 2009, and working with some of the biggest names in internet marketing. I stay on top of current marketing trends and will ensure your team is aware of the latest techniques.  Prior to starting my SEO coaching business, I taught High School ESL, gave yoga classes, studied Education and Linguistics, and worked with Sprint Telecom, maintaining Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks, as well as their “bleeding edge” Sprint ION system which created a new industry standard.  I spent 8 years in the US Army building and troubleshooting telecommunications networks, managing the communications between generals and troops on the front line.  It’s been said that I am “extremely organized and militant with efficiency.”
  5. Q: How do you measure your success?
A: Success to me means my clients are able to take the action necessary to reach their goals, whatever they may be, quickly and easily.  Depending on the client, success has been a variety of things including a number of site visitors per month, a number of leads per month, a number of sales, or the ability to rank on Google for a particular keyword phrase.  My goal is to educate your team in a way that empowers them to reach your goals.
  6. Q: What kinds of results should we expect to see as a result of working with you, and in what timeframe?
A: The short answer is, you’ll have a simple yet powerful blueprint that will help you reach your goals, along with an understanding of its basis and the knowledge to use it.  This can be accomplished in one consultation, but may require some additional training depending on your team’s current knowledge and abilities.
  7. Q: What SEO techniques work best for achieving top rankings?
A: On-page and off-page SEO. That includes everything from the organization and tags on your site, your silo and category structures, your on-site linking…to your off-page marketing tactics including article marketing, press release marketing, video marketing, social media marketing, blogging, software (PAD files), web 2.0 marketing, pinging, RSS directories, social bookmarking, mobile marketing and much more.  If it will help you reach your goals and it makes sense for your market, I’ll show you how to use it.
  8. Q: Will you provide detailed information about your recommendations/guidance and the reasoning behind them?
A: My background is in education, and my goal is to empower your team to get the job done right. So, yes – I will ensure that when I leave, your team will be able to figure out the answer any questions that arise. My role is that of a consultant, not an SEO service provider, so there is no benefit to me in holding back.
  9. Q: What’s your experience developing international sites?
A: There are several things to take into consideration when developing a site for other markets. One is language, and it is possible to set up a language for each user session, or to create separate sub-sites for each locale. Another consideration is the actual marketing. There are many ways to get organic traffic and increase rankings in other countries. Finally, there are cultural issues to take into consideration, as thinking does differ in different parts of the world.
  10. Q: Do you have experience with online user communities?
A: Yes. There are many ways to get users to interact actively on your website (and off your website), including on-site forums, blogs, and social media like facebook, twitter, and more. We can discuss this as it applies to your market and your goals.
  11. Q: How will we communicate with you?
A: I am available by phone and by email, as well as Skype, AIM, Google chat and SMS.
  12. Q: What training/follow-up services do you offer to empower our team to continue with SEO best practices? And how are these offerings priced?
